I bought this aquarium used in 2001, including two lamps and some other accessories, but it was originally purchased in 1980. The two lamps covered the full length of the aquarium - one with a fluorescent tube and the other with two bulbs. I got the idea to split the lamp with the bulbs and thus got light for two of my 20-liter tanks; the last one I managed by making a lamp out of a storage box. By the way, it was funny that I should happen upon this specific size, as one of my only points of irritation with my old 53-liter was that it was taller than it was wide, and I therefore often wished for a 63-liter like this, back in my childhood.
Technical Details
The lighting was a full-length fluorescent tube fixture and in the beginning I used an air-driven undergravel filter, later I used a small powerhead with a foam cartridge. Heating was handled by a 100W Via Aqua heater with a separate sensor and regulator.
Use
I started by setting up a Malawi aquarium, but it never turned out well due to the size (Malawi cichlids require much larger aquariums - at least double the size), so it was primarily used for grow-out after I put it in my small rack.
Status
I sold it in April 2002 because it didn't fit into my remodeled rack, and instead I bought a 128-liter.
