I bought this aquarium used in August 2001 including lamp and stand. I found it in Den Blå Avis, but when I first called, I was informed that it had an iron frame, and I therefore thought it was the very old model. The next day, the seller called back and said that it actually had an aluminum frame - it just wasn't an Effectline! That was good news and I bought it that same afternoon.
Equipment
I bought an AquaClear 802 powerhead mounted with a much too small foam filter (as I realized afterwards) and used it as the only filter. The aquarium was heated by a 200W Jäger heater and the lighting was two 36W fluorescent tubes mounted in a full-cover fixture. The light was controlled by a timer, so I didn't have to turn it on and off myself.
Usage
I started by buying fish at random as one unfortunately often does when starting out with the aquarium hobby. I wanted to create a community tank and bought a variety of my favorite species as well as some that just looked "exciting". After a while, I came across Malawi cichlids and wanted to change it into a Malawi tank, but instead, it became a half-hearted Tanganyika tank. Later it became a community tank again.
Status
After about a year, when my small rack was fully developed, I started thinking about replacing this aquarium with a rack with two 325 liters instead, as well as getting a corner aquarium for the living room. In February 2003, I came across a rack with two 325 liters, which I bought and I have therefore sold this 430 liter aquarium.
